Tiki Cake Pops
Recently my roommate had to leave us for a little bit. Poor baby had to take a trip to Hawaii to visit family. I'm pretty sure he had a good time. I know I would if I wasn't insanely afraid of volcanoes. Volcanoes give me the heebie-jeebies. Ever watch Dante's Peak? Yeah, highly improbable and inaccurate but that moves scares the crap out of me! So now I have a fear of volcanoes. And fire. And dying by volcano and fiery hot lava. Very irrational.

Pin All the Things 7/29/12
This week on Pin All the Things: things I want that would make my life easier. So I sort of created a wish list, as in, I wish my husband would buy me...

Strawberry Rhubarb Pielettes
My favorite summer pie is strawberry rhubarb pie, or more specifically my Grandma Mary's strawberry rhubarb Pie. I also like cherry pie but those, in my opinion, are both easy to make and convenient year round.
I find making the perfect rhubarb pie challenging. Strawberries are easy to find. There in all the supermarkets. The rhubarb, on the other hand, is very elusive here in Florida. I have only been able to find it frozen and only at Publix. Weird. I guess it just doesn't grow down south and it's not at all popular?

(I Hate) Eggplant Croquettes
I don't know about you but I'm tired of all the sweet stuff I've been posting lately. It's hard work trying to be creative!
I went to the produce market last weekend and fell in love with a beautiful
The funny thing about me and eggplant is that I don't like eggplant. I love the idea of eating eggplant. It makes me feel weirdly sophisticated to say to someone, "I ate eggplant for dinner". Actually, I just forget that I don't like eggplant. I'm not sure why I keep forgetting that I don't like eggplant. My husband remembers that I don't like them every time I bring one home.
He'll be like, "Hon, you know you don't like eggplant, right? Remember?"
And I'll be like, "Really? I do not recall any such conversation!"
I just figure I have yet to prepare eggplant in a pleasing way. So here is an eggplant recipe. Maybe you'll like it?

Pin All the Things 7/22/12 {The Olympics}
This week I made cake pops to celebrate the upcoming Summer Olympic Games. While it would be difficult for most of to be able to actually go to London, it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy watching the games at home. I think it would be a lovely idea to have a party celebrating the games and apparently I'm not the only one to think so. Check out these awesome pins:

Olympic Cake Pops: The Rings
Last blogisode I presented my Olympic Cake Pops and showed you how to recreate the Olympic Torch in edible form. Today I'll show you how I made some Olympic Rings for my cake pops.

Olympic Cake Pops: The Flame
I keep seeing fun party and game ideas for celebrating this year's Summer Olympic Games. I wish I could be in London to see my favorite events but I don't even have a passport so that's not going to happen. Also, I'm pretty sure that just purchasing the plane ticket would bankrupt me. No. I'll just sit back in my comfy armchair, in the A/C, with cake pop in one hand and remote in the other. Entertain me, Olympians!
My favorite part of the Olympic games is the opening ceremony when they light the cauldron of flame (Fire! Fire!Fire! heh,heh,heh). It's always done in some insanely spectacular way and it amazes me that it travels all the way from Greece to wherever the games are held that year. Wouldn't be amazing to get to run that torch through your town? I hear it's pretty heavy but what an honor! My luck I'd go out as soon as grabbed it, lol!

Hanging Out in Celebration, Fl
You might remember a little while back I reviewed a restaurant called Thai Thani located in Celebration, Florida. If you don't remember, that's not important. What is important to remember is that if your ever in the Orlando area, say visiting Walt Disney World and in need of a break from the Mouse, is to go explore the town of Celebration.
It's located not very far from Disney property and was actually planned/developed by the Walt Disney Company. It is a small community with a small town feel and is a very safe place to walk around and just appreciate the beautiful sights and architecture. There are so many beautiful homes that I just dream of owning!

Ladybug Cake Pops
I was asked to make some ladybugs for a little girls birthday party. I saw a lot of cute ideas for making these in the blogospere. It was really hard to decide what technique to use for the little dots. Some people used mini chocolate chips and sprinkles but I couldn't find the mini chips. Also my customer wanted some pink and purple ladybugs too so using chocolate chips wasn't going to work!

Pin All the Things 7/8/12
I've been checking out Pinterest more than I aught this past week instead of doing more important things (like cleaning the house or finishing a certain someone's baby quilt). It's amazing how much this sight can suck you in! One cannot simply pin one thing, lol!
This week I have been trying to find some more husband friendly healthy recipes. I've also been on a steel cut oats kick. Those things are awesome and unbelievably filling.
Also created a few new boards. Healthy Recipes, If I were a Princess, Art Projects and Breakfast.
Here a few of my random favorite from my pinning escapades:

Willy's Weiners: A Resturant Review
Last Saturday I was seriously craving a hotdog and didn't have nary a dog in the house so I convinced my husband to take me out. Also, the library is located conveniently near a hotdog stand I had heard about on Main Street in Kissimmee. I had books to return and an insatiably craving. It's time to eat!
We headed downtown and pulled up to Willy's Wieners located at 108 E Dakin Avenue in Kissimmee Florida. It's located on a side street but not hard to find. They have picnic tables out front with cute umbrellas to shad you from the unrelenting Florida sunshine. Did I mention that the heat has been unbearable lately?

Firecracker Cake Pops
Yum! More cake pops! I was feeling inspired by all the red, white and blue at the stores and sculpted some firecrackers in honor of the 4th of July. 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and my favorite part is watching all the fireworks.

Pin All the Things 7/1/12 {4th of July}
I'm so excited that the 4th of July is just around the corner. After Halloween it's one of my favorite holidays. I love the fireworks and all the BBQ and watermelon I can eat. Since I live near Disney Peter usually parks us in the cast member parking lot for a perfect view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. It's a fantastic show that involves an insane amount of fireworks. This year I convinced Peter to give the Lakefront in Kissimmee a try. It's closer to our home and I just don't feel like being stuck in Disney traffic since I have to work the next day.
I dug up some fun projects and yummy food for the 4th of July. Do you have any fun crafts or food that you make to celebrate the 4th?
